Gaborik's second goal gives Rangers OT win

Thoughts:

• The two points are nice, but it could be bittersweet if Ryan McDonagh isn’t okay. Ference should be getting a call and then an up close and personal visit from Brendan Shanahan. I would think that Glen Sather has probably put in a call to Shanny and the league already.
  
• Someone needed to step up, and Marian Gaborik did. He had that rocket in the second period and goes to the net to get the game winner in OT.
  
• The Brad Richards that was on the ice when Marian Gaborik scored the game winner is the one that I want to see. He was patient, made a nice play and the sequence led to the winner.
  
• Henrik Lundqvist was terrific
  
• Once again the team shows their mental toughness by bouncing back with a very strong game, minus the first two shifts, and picking up a win. Speaking of toughness, I heard the Rangers just blocked 11 more shots.
  
• This game met the hype and they have three more meetings and maybe seven more in the playoffs coming up.

The Rangers defeated the Boston Bruins, 3-2, in overtime today at TD Garden for their 30th win of the season, and are now 13-4-0 in their last 17 games.

- New York has posted a record of 30-12-4 (64 pts) on the season, including a 16-7-2 mark on the road. The Rangers have registered at least one point in 29 of their last 38 games (27-9-2), dating back to Oct. 29, after beginning the season with a 3-3-2 mark.

- The Rangers have won five of their last six road games, out-scoring their opponent, 17-10, over the span, and are 11-3-0 in their last 14 games away from MSG.

- The Blueshirts extended their lead over the Bruins to two points for first place in the Eastern Conference Standings, and now rank first in the league with 64 points entering tonight’s games.

- The Rangers have now reached the 30-win mark in seven consecutive seasons. The last time New York posted 30+ wins in seven straight seasons was 1985-86 â€" 1993-94 (nine seasons).

- Henrik Lundqvist made 32 saves to improve to 21-10-4 overall, including an 11-5-2 mark on the road.
